This was a nice little read that is perfect for young children starting at age 3.

The book illustrations give a colorful, well diversified group of children doing what children do best..playing.

It teaches children to love their skin color, that it is beautiful, and to love and accept other skin colors as well. Because in the end, we all may look different on the outside, but we are all the same on the inside. It also teaches children exactly what our body uses our skin for.

The illustrations in this book are very bright and colorful which will definitely keep a child’s attention. There are also a couple games in the back of the book that they can have fun with.

I for one felt like this book was a breath of fresh air, a great learning tool for young children, and beautifully executed.

Our skin color may be different, but we’re all alike in so many ways. This is the compelling message of this children’s storybooķ, suitable for infants to eight-year-olds but timeless, all the same.

I love the vibrant colors of the illustrations and the simplicity of the text. This is one of those booķs that your child will be reciting from memory along with you as you read. I also love the simple activities that can be adapted for very young children.

If you want a meaningful storybooķ that celebrates our differences and reminds us that each individual is perfect in his/her uniqueness, this is the booķ you’ll want to read with your firstborn and hand down to each child as your family grows.

This bright, colorful book is a delight to read. Children will be drawn to this book because of the beautiful illustrations. Parents will love it because of the beautiful message so lovingly expressed. It is sure to be a family favorite and requested time and time again for story time. The vivid illustrations are of children of various ethnic backgrounds having different skin tones. Some are dressed in their native clothing, so bright and beautiful. The realistic faces of the children are glowing with joy, friendship and love as they laugh, run and play together throughout the story.

“I Celebrate My Skin” is the message that all children should hear. If I celebrate my skin, then of course, you must celebrate yours too! We are all different, but in such a beautiful way. Isn’t this what all children should learn and believe; that everyone is beautiful and no one should be judged by the color of their skin? Yes, this is the world that we all envision in our hearts. At a time when we are dealing with crisis after crisis, and people are victimized and labeled as “Other,” the words of love, diversity and inclusion found within these pages will bring a sense of hope to your heart and a smile to your little one’s face. The book also includes several pages of fun activities related to the story’s message, for parents and children to enjoy together.

Purchased this book along with the coloring book at a kids expo and my son loves it! He has to take a book every week to daycare to share with the class and this one is in heavy rotation. Luckily I ordered 2 coloring books so he is able to share pages with his friends. His teacher told me that they all really enjoy it and Cam is always so excited when they get to read it!
